City park reducing number of monitor lizards
THEY may not be ferocious, but the growing number of monitor lizards in Lumpini Park has raised concern among Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) officials, the Thai-language daily Thai Rath reported today (Oct 24).
There are about 350 of them in the park and the BMA will take 150 of them to Khao Son Wild Animal Center in Ratchaburi Province, about 2 hours’ drive from Bangkok.
It will be the second such removal by the BMA, which last year took the same number of the giant reptiles to the center.
