Coffin magically appears in rice field, Phetchabun Province.
Villagers were shocked when they found a coffin at a rice field located in Phetchabun Province. The Wat Dong Tha Kien Village was affected by a flash flood that carried the coffin to a rice field. Locals in the area were walking when they spotted a coffin in the night, they were shocked and scared. A Facebook user named Amnaj Puekkoksung posted pictures of the coffin standing in the field with a caption that stated “I found it, a cold coffin from the Wat Ban Dong Tha Kien Village. The flash flood carried the coffin to a field located just behind my home. I am currently waiting for helpers to come pick it up”. The post was made on 25 September 2021.
Netizens helped share the post with comments such as “I hope the body inside is safe ”, and many social media users wanted to know if there was a number on the coffin and Amnaj’s house number. This is to find a lucky number for the next lottery draw. The Sanook News Team contacted Amnaj on 27 September 2021. Amnaj 34 year old is an officer at the Sublungka Wildlife Sanctuary. Amnaj stated that on the 25th there was a flash flood that entered the village. The water was moving fast and was about 2 meters deep. The water carried the coffin from the temple into a canal, the coffin then traveled over 5-6 kilometers to the rice field.
At night time villagers searched the rice fields in an attempt to find items missing from their homes washed away by the water. They were shocked to find a coffin in the field at night time. Saad Puekkodsung the village chief received notification. The chief and her assistant went to the rice field and found the coffin. Villagers came out to the field and helped carry the coffin into a truck. They cleaned the coffin before returning it to the temple. Some roads in the province are still flooded and officials have placed temporary bridges to help traffic flow. The coffin has been returned to the temple and is now safe awaiting to enter the funeral process.
