Contractor to be sued for open drain tragedy

THE family of a 45-year-old female driver will sue a construction contractor for negligence causing her death in the southern Thai province of Nakhon Si Thammarat, Sanook.com reported today (Oct. 13).

The tragedy took place early in the morning of Wednesday (Oct. 11) while she was driving on a local road outside the city. Her car fell into a big hole on the road, killing her instantly.

The contractor told police investigators that a warning sign with flashing lights were installed in front of the open drain under construction. Unfortunately, the lights were smashed by another car that just passed by, causing the tragedy.
