Doi Suthep minibus mishap kills 2 tourists

TWO elderly Thai tourists were crushed to death under a minibus which slid down the parking lot in front of Doi Suthep Temple in the northern province of Chiang Mai around noon today (Dec 5), Sanook.com reported.

Police investigators said the minibus was in neutral gear when it began to slide backward down the hill and crashed into a row of souvenir shops, crushing the two elderly visitors from the southern province of Phang Nga.

The dead couple’s friend survived the mishap with scratches on her face and body. Mechanics are checking the vehicle to find out the real cause of the tragedy.
