Drunk biker hit with 7 charges after fracas with traffic police

A DRUNK biker who verbally abused a traffic policeman at Saladaeng traffic control room after he seized his driving licence for not wearing a crash helmet has been slapped with 7 charges, Thai News Agency reported today (Nov. 30).

In a video clip which went viral on social media, Mr. Mekhin Aryuwattanamongkol, 34, who was accompanied by Mrs Pab, could be seen accelerating his big bike motorcycle and hurling abuses at Pol.Sen.Sgt.Maj. Prawit Boonmasoongsung, head of traffic police at Thung Maha Maek station, who had seized his driving license for not wearing a crash helmet.

Pol. Gen. Virachai Thongmetta, a spokesman at the National  Police headquarters, questioned Mr. Mekhin and slapped 7 charges against him.

These charges are: drunk driving, not wearing a crash helmet, pillion rider not wearing a crash helmet, covering the license plate, making annoying noises, using profane language with an officer and intruded into a traffic control room.

Mekhin has accepted all the charges and apologized to Pol.Sen.Sgt.Maj.  Prawit for using bad language.
