Grocery store owner charged with abusing toddler

A 56-year-old grocery store owner in the northeastern Thai province of Mukdaharn has been arrested and charged with sexually abusing a three-year-old toddler, the Thai-language Daily News reported yesterday (July 25, 2020).

The alleged crime took place on July 22 inside the store, when there was no customer.

The mother said she gave her daughter 10 baht to buy sweets at the store. Shortly after that, she ran home and cried. The mom was shocked to see her bleeding, and took her to a clinic not far from her home.

The Home for Children and Family later took the toddler and her mom under protection.
