Immigration Police arrest 2 Chinese businessmen.
2 Chinese businessmen have been arrested by the Thai Immigration Police. The suspects claimed they were big businessmen starting a credit card company. They invited people to invest in the business resulting in over 2 Billion THB of damages. There are over 500 victims in this case. Immigration police reported 2 cases on 9 January 2023. The first case is a Chinese suspect who is 44 years old. Chinese officials contacted Thai police to help find a wanted man. Chang Guan the suspect claims he could register companies in foreign countries and invited investors. Damages in this case are currently at 1.4 Billion THB. Investigation revealed the suspect was hiding in Chiang Mai Province.
Chang Guan was arrested and he had no passport. The suspect admitted he entered Thailand illegally through natural passage ways. The arrest warrant from China matched his description. There is also evidence including his phone which was used in China, a fake Taiwanese drivers license, and immigration documents that belonged to someone else but had the suspects picture. The second case is a wanted man tied to a case related to fraud. Damages in this case are over 600 Million THB. Since 2016 Jong the suspect along with his friends had opened a company that turned into a scam call center. Jong hired employees to call strangers and invite them to invest in a credit card company. Jong claimed the company had power to create many credit cards. Over 500 persons fell victim to the scam. He is wanted abroad and has been hiding in Thailand.
Investigation revealed he traveled into the country on 16 September 2019. He was traveling to Nonthaburi Province. The local immigration police were contacted and they found the suspect. His current visa has been revoked and the suspect will be deported out of Thailand. Both suspects are wanted by police abroad and they chose to come hide in Thailand. Immigration police are able to find any foreigners in the country. There are fit resources dedicated to keep law in order both for Thais and foreigners. These suspects are tied to fraudulent cases and will now face justice.
