Jobless dad robs store to help sick son

A 28-year-old jobless man was arrested in the northeastern Thai province of Nong Khai before noon today (Oct 13, 2018) and charged with robbing 21,600 baht from a convenience store in his home province Phetchabun, the Thai-language Daily News reported.

The man, who lives alone with his seven-year-old son, asked one of his neighbors to look after the boy, who was sick, He gave the neighbor some cash before fleeing to Nong Khai.

“I am jobless and deeply in debt,” the father told police investigators. His wife abandoned him and his son two years ago.
