MRT Blue Line fare hiked by 1 baht

BANGKOK Expressway and Metro Plc (BEM) announced a 1-baht fare increase on the MRT Blue Line for a 2-year period starting July 3, 2018 till July 2, 2020, Thai News Agency reported.

The fare is increased for the 5th, 8th and 11th stations traveled from the starting point. Minimum fare is 16 baht and the ceiling 42 baht.

However, 50% discount for children and the elderly and 10% discount for students continue to apply.

Opened on 3 July 2004, the MRT Blue Line runs eastward from Tao Poon station in Bang Sue district along Kamphaeng Phet, Phahon Yothin and Lad Phrao roads, then turns south following Ratchadaphisek road, then west following Rama IV road to Hua Lamphong station in Pathum Wan district, according to Wikipedia.
