Old couple loses 3.7 million baht in fire
AN elderly couple in Samut Prakan province has learned a costly lesson that they should not keep a vast amount of money in their home, Sanook.com reported today (Jan. 15).
The couple, whose names were withheld, has kept 3.7 million baht in cash in a steel safe in their two-storey wooden house since they were young. The fire broke out around 10 am and there was no one to help them remove the safe.
Luckily, the couple was able to retrieve another 500,000 baht in cash, which they had kept in a drawer in their room.
