Parts of Bangkok flooded after heavy rain

HEAVY rain is pounding several parts of Bangkok today (Oct. 3) leading to many areas being flooded and traffic jamming and slowing down with people urged to be careful, INN News reported.

Bangkok Metropolitan Administration’s Department of Drainage and Sewerage said at 2 pm today light to medium level rain was falling on both sides of Bangkok with the storm clouds heading in a southwesterly direction

There was a heavy downpour in Ramkhamhaeng, Wang Thonglang, Sena, Rama 1 Road, Dusit, Kanchanapisek and Kalapaphruek roads.

The area in front of Central Westgate and in Soi Bearing got flooded leading to traffic jamming and slowing down. Small cars cannot pass some stretches and people are urged to be careful.

Meanwhile heavy rain also pounded  Prachin Buri leading to forest runoff flooding Highway 359 by 50 centimeters.

Tikhamporn Jaruphom, head of Prachin Buri’s Office of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, said the all night rain led to a forest runoff from Khao Yai flooding Highway 359 at Krabin Buri district for a kilometer and as this is 50 centimeters high small cars cannot pass.
