There are millions of people who are addicted to soft drinks with the most popular choice being black soft drinks. The main ingredients that cause this addiction are caffeine and sugar. The most iconic soft drink brands in Thailand are Coca-Cola, est, AJE Big Cola and Pepsi.

Suntory Pepsico Beverage (Thailand) (SPBT) who is the maker of Pepsi in Thailand announced that the company has increased the retail price for Pepsi beverages at 2 to 3 THB per bottle. Sirin Chotimut from SPBT stated that the reasoning behind the price increase is the market mechanism. The price has been adjusted accordingly to the demands of the market.

Another reasoning is that Pepsi has not increased its retail prices in Thailand for a long time. The company has been holding onto the increased cost of production for years. As the market is changing, Pepsi has to make changes to their products too.
