Polish suspect reenacts ATM blast
POLICE took a young Polish man who is a suspect in the blasting open of an ATM machine for crime reenactment today (Sept. 28) after he confessed to having committing the theft but said he acted alone, Thai News Agency said.
Metropolitan Police Bureau Chief Pol.Lt.Gen. Sanit Mahathavorn together with Prawet station investigators took the Polish suspect, Pawel Staniszewski, 38, who is charged with blasting open a Bangkok Bank ATM at Krungthep Kreetha road and stealing over 300,000 baht on September 13, 2017 to the crime site for the reenactment.
At the first spot the suspect put down a bag containing a gas balloon which he had used to blast open the door of the ATM in front of a Tesco Lotus Express outlet and then he put down a black bag in which he had put the money and sped away on a motorcycle.
At the second spot which is in Soi Krungthep Kreetha 15/1 the Polish suspect showed how he threw various evidence such as clothes and the crash helmet into a pond.
Police said he first tried to bury the evidence but failed to do so because the ground is very hard in this area.
Pol.Lt.Gen. Sanit added that investigation showed the suspect acted alone with evidence collected from his flat showing he was getting ready to act again.
He added that the suspect said he is familiar with this area because he often came fishing around here which is believable.
Meanwhile police have not questioned his Cambodian wife because she has returned to her homeland.
