Prayut gives children a big treat at Govt House

CHILDREN across the country enjoyed themselves on their special day today (Jan. 14) particularly those received by Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha himself at Government House despite festive events being marred by an Air Force fighter jet crashing during a show in Songkhla this morning, Thai News Agency said.

A Gripen 39C fighter jet flown by Sqn. Ldr. Dilokrit Pattavee crashed at Wing 56 at 9.27 a.m.

jet crash children's day showPremier Prayut offered his condolences to the deceased officer’s family and the Air Force while ordering all military units to maintain the highest level of caution with those authorizing such shows having to make sure they are completely safe.

Meanwhile Air Chief Marshal Johm Rungswang, the Air Force chief,  was also sad that this crash occurred and ordered a committee to investigate it with all units involved told to go to the site and find out why this crash occurred.

At the Government House Prime Minister Prayut watched a Khon dance drama performed by children followed by Thai boxing matches by children and youths.

After that the Prime Minister took children invited to this event to see his office within the Thai Kho Fa building and they were also allowed to sit on the Prime Minister’s chair.

These children were selected from among those who are well-behaved, good in their studies and those disabled with others coming from border provinces and the South.
