Thai Airways cancels 14 fights to Europe and Pakistan.

Pakistan shot down two Indian warplanes that were flying over Kashmir as a part of the territorial dispute that is gaining more heat after the capture of two pilots. Pakistan’s air force decided to shoot down the jets when they flew across the disputed boundary in the region.

The Bangkok Insight has reported that Thailand’s national airways “Thai Airways” has canceled 14 flights due to the relation of the events happening in between Pakistan and India. These are the flights that cross over Pakistan and certain European nations. Thai Airways has also called in an emergency board meeting with the goal to find a solution to the issue.

 

Sumeth Damrongchaitham, the President of Thai Airways International Public Limited Company has reported that the dispute between Pakistan and India has resulted in Pakistan closing down their airspace beginning from the 27th of this month with no date announced to when the airspace will be opened back up again.

Thai Airways had to contact about 4 planes flying on European routes such as Bangkok to Frankfurt and Bangkok to London to return back to Thailand on immediate notice. The airspace closed will have a direct impact amongst flights that fly to Pakistan and flights to European nations. 10 flights to Europe and 4 flights to Pakistan has been canceled without a confirmed take-off date. The board of Thai Airways is trying to come up with a solution to the newly surfaced issue straight away.

 

Thai Airways currently has 3 routes that enter into Pakistan, this includes Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad and 11 European Nations, this includes Denmark, Norway, Belgium, France, Russia, Germany, Switzerland, Sweden, England, Italy, and Austria.
