Yingluck declared a person to be watched
POLICE revealed that the Foreign Ministry has registered former prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra as a person to be watched and as to whether she was recently in China or not is still being concluded, Sanook.com reported today (Feb. 16).
Pol. Col. Krisana Pattanacharoen, a deputy spokesman of the Royal Thai Police, said the Foreign Ministry has also sent additional information to Interpol to consider issuing a blue notice for Yingluck. This notice alerts police in member countries to collect additional information about a person’s identity, location or activities in relation to a crime.
He added that National Police Chief Pol.Gen. Chakthip Chaijinda has assigned Deputy National Police Chief Pol. Gen. Srivara Rangseepromnakul to handle this case.
Police have already been continuously liaising with the Interpol to find her and forward any information about her. Among Interpol’s 192 member countries are both those that have extradition agreement with Thailand and those that don’t,
This especially applies to countries where Yingluck has been seen or there has been information of her traveling in and out such as UK and United Arab Emirates.
Interpol has been urged that if she is found in any country, Thailand should be immediately informed so that papers can be sent to extradite her or diplomatic channels used to bring her back.
