Hotel cleaner returns A$11,000 to Dutch tourist

A YOUNG Dutch man who lost his bag containing a plastic camera and 11,000 Australian dollars (approximately 280,000 baht) after getting a bit tipsy luckily got it all back from a  Myanmar woman who works as a cleaner at the Koh Samui hotel he is staying in, the Thai-language daily Matichon reported today (July 20, 2018).

Alexander Joseph, 31, said upon getting his bag back from Miss Suri, 37, with the Ark Bar Beach  Resort Hotel manager and police looking on, that he is very happy to have recovered all his money.

He added that he had got a bit drunk the previous night, and as he did not remember where he had left his bag, was certain it had been stolen.

He was to check out today (July 20), but has now decided to stay on another 5 days.

The hotel’s security camera shows that 5.52 a.m. yesterday Joseph was standing near the hotel’s staircase and was smoking while looking at his mobile phone and after a few moments went up to his 2nd floor room.

At 6.54 a.m., as Suri was cleaning this area of the hotel, she spotted the bag and called the receptionist via her walkie-talkie handset.
