12 hurt as pick-up truck flips over in Ayutthaya

A PICK-UP truck heading for Bangkok overturned on a dark road in adjacent Ayutthaya province at 4 a.m. today (April 26) injuring 12 passengers, INN News reported.

Wong Noi police and rescuers rushed to the accident site on Phahonyothin road kilometer 62 inbound to Bangkok, and quickly took the injured passengers to Wang Noi Hospital.

Investigation revealed that the driver of this pick-up truck had tried to avoid a head-on collision with another pick-up truck, which was heavily laden with cargo and had also flipped over just ahead on this dark road, and in doing so likewise overturned.

Meanwhile Thai News Agency reported that an oil tanker carrying over 40,000 liters of petrol suddenly jumped to the other side of Mitraphap highway in northeastern Nakhon Ratchasima province, or Korat, and slammed into 3 vehicles waiting at the traffic lights.

Officials rushed to help Adul Chatnok, the driver of a pick-up truck who was pinned in his vehicle.
