41.7 km pipeline to solve Hua Hin’s water shortage

WITH the rapid expansion of its tourism industry, the seaside Thai town of Hua Hin is now facing a shortage of water for consumption, the Thai-language daily Matichon reported today (March 6).

Pran Buri Dam, which is the main source of water supply to Hua Hin, is now facing a water shortage. It currently supplies 120 million cubic meters of tap water to the tourist city.

To solve the problem, the Irrigation Department will build a 41.7- km-long pipeline to send water from Kuen Pet Dam in Pran Buri to Hua Hin and Cha-am, which is also facing a water shortage.

The department has not revealed when construction of the water pipeline will begin.
