6 hurt in trailer truck- bus collision on Bang Nat Trat highway

AN 18-wheel trailer truck and a bus collided on Bang Na Trat highway this morning (Nov. 14) leading to 6 passengers being severely injured while 15 others had minor injuries, Thai News Agency reported.

Rescuers from neighboring Chacheongsao  province rushed to the scene of the accident at kilometer 48 of this highway in Bang Pakong district with the two large vehicles colliding at the bypass to the  expressway causing the bus to fall into the gutter.

A little further ahead was parked the 18-wheel trailer truck with scratches on the left side.

However the drivers of the two large vehicles gave different accounts of what happened with the bus driver saying he was cruising along the bypass when the 18-wheel trailer truck tried to overtake and hit his vehicle causing it to trip into the gutter.

The trailer truck driver’s story was that he was he driving along smoothly when suddenly the bus driver moved out of the bypass and collided with the trailer section.
