Army trucking water to hard-hit district

THE Royal Thai Army today (March 12) dispatched both water and water production trucks to Ban Rai district of Uthai Thani province to help residents suffering from water shortage, Thai News Agency said.

Col. Decha  Boonsom, head of the Mobile Development Unit 15 of the Armed Forces Development Command, sent large water trucks with 6,000-liter capacity and medium-size water production trucks to help residents of this district who now have to buy water.

Col. Decha said summer has just started yet many areas of this lower northern province have started feeling the impact of a drought and the army fully realizes their suffering and rushed to help residents in trouble after they asked for assistance. It is rural areas and zones further away from the center of the province that are first being helped.
