Bangkok to have new public park

BANGKOK may not be known for its green spaces, but beginning on Sunday (March 26) a new oasis for nature lovers will open to the public.

The opening of a 29-rai (4.6 hectares) area, owned by Chulalongkorn University, will coincide with the centennial celebration of the university.

Called Chamchuri Park, the new “lung of Bangkok” is located just across from the Chamchuri Square shopping mall.

Spaces will also be preserved for exhibitions and classrooms for students, locals and foreign visitors.
