Couple raises leopard as pet

Officials in charge of protecting wild animals and plants today (Sept 2, 2019) inspected a two-storey house in Na Chomtien Sub-district of Chon Buri Province after being informed by the locals that a foreigner and his Thai wife are keeping a leopard as pet in their home, sanook.com reported.

The couple said they raised the leopard since it was six months old. It is now fully grown and is not aggressive. They just moved into the rented house five days ago.

The officials issued an order that the animal must stay within the compound of the house at all times. The house walls must also be fortified to prevent the animal from escaping.
