DSI teams impound 30 posh cars

THE Department of Special Investigation today impounded over 30 luxury cars on suspicion their owners and dealers dodged import taxes, Matichon newspaper said.

Pol Lt General Kornwat Parnprapakorn, deputy director-general of the Department of Special Investigation, said DSI teams inspected nine place which DSI had found out brought in expensive cars from overseas and are suspected to have given false declaration to avoid paying taxes with these being both companies and residences.

Over 30 luxury cars were impounded and DSI will be giving details at a press conference at 11 a.m. tomorrow.

Among the places the DSI teams went to are showrooms on Krungthep Kreeta Road, Sukhumvit Soi 63 and Siam Paragon. Two houses, one in Ramkhamhaeng Road and the other in Samut Prakarn, were also inspected.
