LIKE in previous years, New Year gift hampers are the most favorite item that Thai people will give to their friends, colleagues and loved ones, the Thai-language Daily News reported today (Dec. 26).
To protect consumers, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has asked manufacturers and retailers to make sure that all items they put on sale during the festive season are not out of date.
FDA officials will check New Year items in shops and supermarkets across the country. Traders and merchants who violate the law face a maximum fine of 30,000 baht.
