Giant Thai spirit house draws worshipers

STANDING more than five meters tall, a unique Thai spirit house has attracted a steady stream of worshipers from around the country since it was installed at Saengdao Temple in the lower-northern province of Phitsanulok in 1993.

The spirit house was the brainchild of the late abbot Suthep Chotiyo, whose body has not decomposed since he passed away in 1991.

As word spread about the ‘miracle,’ worshipers from near and far came to pay respects to the late monk, Thai Rath newspaper reported today (July 12)
