Govt scores poorly in Dusit Poll

THAI people are disappointed by the performance of the Prayut government, which marks its fourth years in power on Tuesday (May 22, 2018), according to an opinion poll published in the Thai-language daily Khao Sod today (May 20, 2018).

The respected Suan Dusit Poll interviewed 1,346 Thais across the country during May 15-19, 2018.

According to the poll, the high cost of living is the No.1 problem (cited by 41.78 percent of respondents), followed by corruption in government (34.22 percent), failure to solve problems (19.66 percent), unfair legal action (15.31 percent), and failure to tackle low prices of farm produce (13.23 percent).

Thirty-two percent of the respondents said the next general election should be held early next year, 27 percent want the government to tackle corruption, while 24 percent call for better standards of living.

All in all, the government scores 5.42 points out of 10.
