Granddad charged with raping granddaughter
SAMUT Prakarn police arrested a 52-year-old grandfather on a charge of raping his 10-year-old granddaughter but the suspect denies the accusation, Thai News Agency and Sanook.com reported today (May 13, 2018).
However, the suspect, Viroj Choicharoen, 52, admitted that he hugged his granddaughter affectionately as grandfathers and granddaughters generally do, but police do not believe him and filed a charge of raping a girl younger than 13 years of age.
The suspect was arrested while performing his duty helping with the traffic flow at a wedding in a famous school in Klong Dan subdistrict, Bang Bo district, Samut Prakarn.
Upon being questioned Viroj fully denied the charge, and pointed out if he was really guilty he would have run away by now.
He girl’s father, Nirud, 31, had been arrested earlier this month for raping the 10-year-old 5th grade student for over 2 years.
