Hundreds flee as hotel in Pattaya catches on Fire.

A hotel in Pattaya caught on fire, causing about 400 foreigners residing in the hotel to race for their lives outside. Thankfully the fire remained in the front of the building and did not spread to the rooms inside the hotel. The Chonburi Police were notified at 4.30 am on 6 December 2019 of a fire at a popular Pattaya hotel located in Soi Buakhao, Bang Lamung District. The police went to the hotel right away along with firefighters, the local rescue team, and the medical team from Pattaya City Hospital.

When the officials arrived they saw that the front of the 8-story hotel was burning in flames. Teamwork consisting of the police, good citizens in the area, and the hotel security team helped over 400 tourists who were staying the night at the hotel, this includes children, seniors, and handicapped persons. Good participation from all parties helped everyone to exit the building safely without injuring each other. All were brought out safely as firefighters calmed down the flames in 30 minutes.

Supatchai 29 years old one of the security guards at the hotel stated that he saw some smoke coming out from the front of the building. Then came the flames that kept growing as more wind blew in. Thankfully officials worked together in putting out the flames before anyone was hurt. The firefighter team went inside to inspect the source of the fire and discovered that it started in the front part of the building and thankfully didn’t spread into the back where hotel rooms were located. Officials are investigating to find out the cause of the fire. Although the fire remained in the front, damages are estimated to be at least 1 Million THB.
