Insurgents had set off 110-kg bomb at Big C Pattani

FORENSIC science unit which collected and checked the evidence gathered from Big C Supercenter in Pattanii where two bombs went off yesterday said two cooking gas cylinders, one weighing 80 kilograms and the other 30 kilograms, were used in the bigger second explosion,  Thai  News Agency said today (May 10).

At the first site, which is the entrance of the store, forensic science officers found fragments that assembled showed a time bomb.

Of the two cooking gas cylinders used to set off the car bomb at the second site, the smaller one was the picnic cylinder variety. Fragments of two types of detonation devices were found, one a timer and the other a radio link.

In the twin bombings at this store altogether 69 people were injured and 45 have returned home from hospital with 24 remaining under medical care and among them three are seriously injured.
