Jealous guard strangles girlfriend to death
A GUARD who works at a big shopping mall in Patumwan area of Bangkok strangled his girlfriend to death with a necktie in a fit of jealous rage last night and gave himself up to police, INN New reported this morning (March 1).
The guard, Mr Wandee Yanit, 23, from northeastern Sakhon Nakon province, was waiting for police at a flat in Petchaburi soi 10 where his girlfriend, Miss Sudarat (surname withheld) ,21, also from Sakhon Nakhon, lay dead next to a bed.
Wandee told police that his girlfriend worked at a restaurant in the same shopping mall and they had a daughter. However, of late they had started quarreling frequently and his girlfriend started to keep a distance from him.
They quarreled again last night and fuming with rage and jealousy he strangled her with his necktie, and was going to hang himself with an electric cord when his older sister called him and talked him out of it.
Police have arrested him and will be questioning him further before proceeding with legal action.
