Korat man has been repairing roads for free for 30 years
A 60-year-old man who has been repairing roads in Nakhon Ratchasima (Korat) for free for 30 years vows to continue doing so even though some people say he is crazy, INN News said today (August 15).
Adul Pathan, mayor of Muang Khong municipality in Khong district, mentioned that there is a good-spirited man in this district who has been repairing roads by filling cracks and potholes for 30 years and his name is Suksan Saengsawang.
While some people say he is crazy, Mr Adul praised him for sacrificing his time and energy for collective public good without hoping for any return whatsoever.
Upon being questioned Mr Suksan said he lives at Wat Takrong temple and helps out there for food and a place to sleep.
However he does go out and repair roads everyday, having started doing so in 1988, in order to prevent accidents that those driving by might get into.
He added that he mixes the earth used to fill potholes and cracks with gravel so that it remains firm for a longer time and that he would go and repair roads further out too if he had more equipment.
