Move against sewage dumping

The Pollution Control Department (PCD) has slapped fines against 593 office buildings and hotels located along Saen Saeb Canal in Bangkok for releasing untreated wastewater into the waterways, the Thai-language daily Khao Sod reported yesterday (Nov 27, 2019).

A total of 289 office buildings and hotels have improved their waste-water treatment systems in accordance with the PCD standards.

However, there are 304 more office buildings and hotels that continue to ignore the environmental law. They face a daily maximum fine of 2,000 baht until they can fix the problem.
