Phuket airport luggage thieves arrested

THREE workers at Phuket International Airport have been arrested and charged with stealing valuables from loaded luggages, Sanook.com reported today (Jan. 21).

Airport officials began checking CCTVs at the luggage loading room after receiving complaints from airline passengers that valuable items have been stolen from their suitcases. Three suspects were identified.

Accompanied by police, airport officials found more than 100 valuable items, including brand-name wristwatches, handbags and mobile phones in the room of the suspects.

Airline officials will examine the stolen items and contact the passengers whose valuables were stolen.
