Premier: Bomb-like sound didn’t cause chaos

PRIME Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha said today (May16) that the sound of a bomb exploding in front of the National Theater last night did not cause chaos, INN News said.

General Prayut who is both Prime Minister and head of National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) very briefly said before a NCPO meeting today that that  there was no chaos.

Meanwhile Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Prawit Wongsuwan said upon being questioned about the loud sound that the police have already given out all the information and there are officials taking care of the situation with the government functioning continuously.

He also said this incident is not a symbol linking to the third anniversary of NCPO.

At the same time Thai News Agency quoted Supreme Commander Gen Surapong Suwana-adth as saying agencies responsible for security and safety are continuously vigilant and it is the police who are responsible for finding out and revealing the cause and motives behind this loud sound and the finding of a suspicious object around the Gate 1 of Chatuchak Park yesterday.
