Special ceremony on aircraft carrier for HM the late King

ROYAL Thai Navy Commander-in-Chief Admiral Na Areenich led 4,000 sailors in singing the Royal Anthem as a tribute to the late His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej on the flight deck of HTMS Chakri Naruebet aircraft carrier in the middle of the ocean, Thai News Agency said today.

thai-navy-aircraft-carrierThis spectacular ceremony was also joined by three more ships, namely HTMS Naresuan, HTMS Taksin and HTMS Pinklao, and was held to mourn the passing away of His Majesty the late King on the occasion of Thai Navy Day on November 20.

HTMS Naresuan, HTMS Taksin and HTMS Pinklao have been used to fire salutes and have done so several times for His Majesty the late King who took photographs and gave one of HTMS Pinklao firing salutes to the Thai Royal Navy, Thai Rath said.

His Majesty the late King had also anointed both HTMS Naresuan and HTMS Taksin in 1997.
