Storm wreaks havoc on Koh Chang village

TWENTY houses were seriously damaged and electricity poles smashed by a freak storm that wrought havoc on Salakkok Village on the tourist island of Koh Chang this afternoon (Nov. 19), the Thai-language daily Thai Rath reported.

“Road traffic was halted and many parts of the island were without electricity for more than one hour,” District Officer Tossapol Sinyabutr told the paper.

No one was hurt in the freak storm, according to Thai Rath, which said local officials are still checking the damage.
