Students exhibit their new Royal portraits

PAINTING, sculpture and graphic arts students of Silpakorn University’s Tha Prachan campus are exhibiting nine new Royal portraits of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej in various artistic and scientific poses under the concept ‘Supreme Artist,’ Thai News Agency said today.

Among them are paintings of the late His Majesty the King playing the piano and sailing with these canvases being 2×2.30 meters. The students united in creating these paintings and have put them on the university’s wall facing Na Phra Larn Road opposite the Grand Palace to mourn for the late HM the King who has been recognized as Supreme Artist.

Both Thais and foreigners coming to mourn the passing away of HM the King last night  keenly viewed the exhibition and took commemorative photographs.

The students started painting on Friday October 14, 2016 and although there were problems about the weather everyone cooperated fully to create beautiful Royal portraits of the late HM the King.
