Thailand to solve child labor problem

Thailand’s Social Welfare and Labor Protection Department (SWLPD) will seriously tackle the problem of child labor this year, with the aim to eradicate it in 2020, the Thai-language daily Matichon reported today (Oct 19, 2018).

Acting SWLDP director-general Wiwat Tabhong also mentioned forced labor in the fishing industry, which must be seriously dealt with.

Meanwhile, the department will encourage healthy old people to continue working. A list of jobs for elderly people can be accessed on the SWLDP’s website.
