Couples register marriage certificates on Valentines @ Bang Rak Bangkok
Bangkok hosts the event “ลิขิตรัก ณ บางรัก Sign of love” for couples who wish to sign their marriage certificates at Bang Rak district in Bangkok city on this year’s Valentine’s day. Bang Rak has always been a very popular district that couples would choose to register their marriage certificates at due to its name with the word rak which is love in Thai.
Couples come from all over the country to join in the celebration of love at Bang Rak district. An officer revealed that the first couple arrived at 11.00 pm on the night of the 13th. The couple stated that they made it a goal to be the first couple announced as legally married on Valentine 2019. The first 41 couples arrived at Bang Rak district before 6.00 am on Valentine’s day.
The Bang Rak district prepared traditional Thai marriage arrangements including Buddhist traditions for couples to join in during the morning. The goal is to keep Thai marriage traditions strong and to help preserve cultural aspects of Thai marriage. TheBang Rak district has been accepting marriage certificate registration bookings since the 21st of January 2019. Through the pre-registration over 310 couples booked via an application, Facebook page, and Website.
At the event, there was also a lucky draw for a pair of golden marriage certificates. 177 couples that arrived in the morning of Valentine’s day joined in the lucky draw. The winning couple is Police Corporal Chisanupong from Thung Maha Mek sub-district in Bangkok and Supansa a local kindergarten school teacher in Chachoengsao province.
The couple revealed that they have been a couple for over 8 years and decided to tie the knot in 2018, but they had waited until this year’s Valentine’s day to come legally register the marriage certificate at Bang Rak district in Bangkok. They believe that choosing the right date will bring them good luck for their marriage. Winning the golden marriage certificates has brought them great joy and excitement.
