Couples fall victim to Wedding Organizer
A total of 12 couples went to file reports with the Crime Suppression Division Police on 15 November 2019 against a Wedding Organizer Company. The couples made payments to the company that left them stranded without a wedding. Many had to cancel their wedding plans and find a new wedding organizer.
Victims stated that the wedding organizer uses the names of 3 companies including 1. Bua the Wedding, 2. Bua Flora, and 3. Heartist the Wedding. Many of the victims found the company through Facebook and at wedding fairs. The organizer meets up with the couples then takes them to venues and other planning processes. The couples are then shown past weddings organized by the company and are offered good deals. The combination of a trustable company with a good history and a great value deal gained the victim’s trust. The couples will then pay a deposit as a booking fee. When the date arrives, the organizer disappears with the deposit money and in some cases, the couples receive a wedding that is nothing as agreed. There are a total of over 50 couples who fell victim to the organizer.
Victims stated that they decided to come file a report with the police for 2 main reasons. The organizer won’t pay back the deposit money even though it’s the company’s fault, this is showing signs of fraud and deception. Furthermore, many of the couples had to re-schedule or cancel their wedding that costs even more damage. The second reason is to protect other couples from falling victim to the company. The only thing the victims wanted from the company was a happy wedding day as planned. With their actions, the victim’s dreams are destroyed by the wedding organizer.
