19 Burmese found hiding in single truck.

19 Burmese have been hiding in a single small truck. The driver has been arrested for the 2^nd time with similar charges. Thong Paphum Police and related officials arrested a driver smuggling illegal workers into Thailand. Inside the truck were 19 Burmese hidden inside together airtight. Police Colonel Bunsongwit Hongsand from the Thong Paphum Police in Kanchanaburi Province gave orders to Police Lieutenant Colonel Theeraporn Vijitbankarn, and related officials to find illegal workers crossing into the country. As a result, 19 Burmese were arrested on rural road no.3183 in Thong Paphum District.

Officials received information there were Burmese workers planning to enter through the border located in Sangkhla Buri District. They were traveling on a gray truck with a Kanchanaburi license plate. Oficials waited near the area and the suspected truck was spotted heading into the city. Kriangsak Janya 38-year-old is the driver. Inside the truck were 11 men and 8 women. Kriangsak admitted that he picked the Burmese suspects up from highway 323. He was hired to deliver the workers to Thong Paphum District in exchange from 2,000 THB. The Burmese suspects are now at the police station waiting to be deported back to their country.

Kriangsak is facing charges related to assisting and hiding illegal immigrants in the country along with other related charges. Officials report that these workers will travel into the country through natural passageways. Officials are doing their best to stop illegal immigrants entering the country, especially during Covid-19. The virus can travel and spread to other persons in Thailand, whether those crossing into the country know they are infected with Covid-19 or not. Kriangsak the suspect in this case has been previously arrested on a similar case in 2019. In the previous case he was found with 8 Burmese in Sai Yok District, Kanchanaburi Province.
