Hair-raising ride with train door open

AFTER a video clip showing a Skytrain door staying open as it zoomed from one station to another yesterday morning went viral online, BTS came out to explain that the door was fixed at the next station in just 2 minutes, the Thai-language daily Matichon reported today (Aug. 3, 2018).

In messages shared by Line, ID –  BTSSKYTRAIN, and Twitter, ID – @BTS_SkyTrain, the train operator also warned passengers to not lean against train doors and immediately inform officials if they see anything irregular, either by pressing the bell or by Line messaging system.

BTS said the incident occurred at 7.30 a.m. yesterday on train number 14 as it was running from Mor Chit to Saphan Kwai stations.

The train operator underscored that it gives importance to passenger safety and is not staying still over what happened, having checked this door in detail.

BTS has also posted 208 warning signs on its trains telling riders to not lean against the doors.
