‘Holy log’ draws worshippers to Thai temple

THE spirit of a dead woman visited a female villager in a dream in the central Thai province of Ang Thong over a week ago, asking her to salvage a log buried under the canal in front of a local temple for more than 700 years, INN News reported today (June 13).

Since the log was lifted from the canal in Wiset Chaicharn District, a large number of locals and worshippers from near and far descended on the temple to worship the spirit. Many asked her for winning lottery numbers.

The phenomenon has lifted the local economy, and the temple has seen a big increase in donations from worshippers. “She (the spirit) has made everyone here so happy,” said a local monk.
