Nida Poll asks the people their opinion on the new government.
Nida Poll conducted a poll that asked the people political-related questions. One of the main questions revealed that the people do not believe this new government with Srettha Thavisin as prime minister will not be able to solve the current political conflicts. The poll was conducted from 23-25 August 2023 with 1,310 participants aged 18 and above across the country. 87.63% stated they have never joined a political gathering. 4.35% stated they have joined the red shirts gathering in the past, 3.13% stated they have joined the yellow shirts gatherings, 3.05% stated they have joined the PDRC gatherings, and 2.82% stated they have joined the orange shirts gatherings.
When asked what political group they currently belong in, 69.47% stated they do not belong to any specific group, 19.85% stated they are orange shirts, 6.64% stated they are red shirts, 2.59% stated they are yellow shirts, and 1.45% stated they support the PDRC. When asked their opinion on the new government with Srettha Thavisin as PM and whether this government can solve the current political conflicts between the different groups, the people had their opinions. 36.72% stated they strongly believe the new government cannot solve this problem, 20.61 stated they strongly believe the new government can solve the problem, 20.53% stated they don’t believe the new government cannot solve the problem, 19.85% stated they believe the new government can solve the problem, and 2.29 had no opinion on this question.
Nida Poll also asked the people’s opinion on the return of Thaksin Shinawatra and whether his return can lead to solving the current political conflict between the red shirts and the yellow shirts. 30.76% stated they strongly don’t believe this will happen, 27.02% stated they strongly believe this will happen, 22.29% stated they believe this will happen, 18.25% stated they don’t believe this will happen, and 1.68% had no opinion on this matter.
Lastly, Nida Poll asked the people for their opinion on political conflicts in the future. 39.39% stated they believe conflicts will continue between orange shirts and the other groups, 24.89% stated there will be no more conflict, 16.56% stated there will be a conflict between orange shirts and red shirts, 6.72% stated there will be a conflict between yellow shirts and red shirts, 2.44% stated there will be a conflict between the red shirts and the PDRC, 1.45% stated there will be a conflict between the PDRC and orange shirts, 0.53% stated there will be conflicts between yellow shirts and the PDRC, and 10.53% had no opinion on this matter.
