Online shopping spreads to property market

TAKING online marketing a step ahead is Ananda Development Plc with the launch of cyber condo booking that allows buyers to reserve a unit at two of its projects with just a few clicks.

Chanond Ruangkritya, the company’s CEO and president and Ponganan Sookkasem, the firm’s senior marketing director, pushed this new online facility to make it easier to buy a condominium especially by Generation C who would appreciate the “Easy-Fast-Smart-Secure” concept.

Units offered for online booking have been carefully selected and buyers will get a special discount which is higher than what is offered via traditional purchase with the highest amount being 200,000 baht, the company said.

Buyers can book online through any device and at any place at all with the transaction going through a payment gateway of a reputable Thai bank.

This company’s “Ananda Click Now and Easily Book Right Away” campaign was launched earlier this week for its two latest projects with these being Ideo Mobi Asoke, with prices starting at 4.36 million baht, and Venio Sukhumvit 10, with the cheapest units being 3.49 million baht. Bookings will be accepted on September 22, 2016 from 9 p.m. to midnight but those interested in participating have to register beforehand at the company’s website Ananda.co.th/onlinebooking .

Meanwhile CBC News said last October that  a Canadian real estate search site BuzzBuzzHome planned to launch a “buy now” button, allowing Canadians to instantly purchase a new construction condo or house online with nothing more than a credit card.

No real estate agent, physical paperwork or sales center visit would be required.

“From your couch, you can actually do the full transaction and not have to leave the comfort of your home,” Matthew Slutsky, president and co-founder of Toronto-based BuzzBuzzHome, told CBC News.

The novel concept is already raising concerns but this is no surprise in an established industry currently under siege by emerging technologies that threaten to shake up the traditional real estate model.
