A pink crematorium of love

THAIS who have attended a Buddhist cremation of a family member or a friend may recall the sadness that filled the air, with some weeping for their loved one.

At Donwai Temple in Noansoong District of Nakhon Ratchasima Province, its crematorium and main building are painted in pink to make visitors feel at ease.

“It may be the only pink crematorium in the country,” said temple committee member Paiboon Tiraruangrat. “The color was chosen by the abbot to emphasize love and happiness.”

“It’s marvelous,” a villager told the Thai-language daily Matichon. “I am sure more tourists will come to visit our temple.”
