Pump gives free gas to Royal Cremation ceremony volunteers

A PETROL pump in northeastern Khon Kaen province is today (Oct. 26) giving free gas to volunteer taxi drivers and owners of private cars who are helping ferry mourners to the Royal Cremation ceremony at the replica of the crematorium in honor of His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej, INN News reported.

Lots of volunteers joined the queue for free gas at Green S pump on Mitraphab Road in Khon Kaen’s Mueang district after the owner put up a sign that this pump wants to do a good deed for His late Majesty the King and is permitting free refueling from 0.01 am today until they run out.

Mr Kanthir Ungsathidthaworn, manager of Green S pump, said as of around 11 am today some 200 taxis and private cars have got free gas from his pump. Most are ferrying mourners from various points in this northeastern province to the replica crematorium at Wat Pa Saeng Arun to attend the Royal Cremation ceremony.

Each vehicle got 300 to 500 baht worth of free gas and the pump has arranged 5,000 liters worth over 50,000 baht to give away.
