Vietnamese caught with tiger carcass

TWO Vietnamese wildlife traders were arrested in the northern Thai province of Phitsanulok this afternoon (Oct 11, 2018) and charged with illegal possession of a tiger carcass, the Thai-language Daily News reported.

Acting on a tip-off, police and Wildlife Department officials boarded a tour bus and apprehended the two traders, who were on their way to the Thai border province of Nong Khai.

Police found a 3-meter-long skinned tiger carcass wrapped in a large plastic bag inside a suitcase, along with its vital organ and other body parts that had been smoked.

The two suspects said they took the tiger carcass from Myanmar, but Thai wildlife protection officials believe it was a Thai tiger.
