Bangkok, Thailand – Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit, the iconic Luxury Collection Hotel in the heart of Bangkok, has unveiled the latest edition of “Amici Night”, an exclusive epicurean event that celebrates fine food and UNESCO World Heritage Premium Beverage at Rossini’s, the award-winning Italian restaurant.
Hosted on 22nd September 2022 (17:30 – 22:30 hrs.), Amici Night has been curated by two of Thailand’s leading chefs: Gaetano Palumbo, Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit’s renowned Executive Chef who grew up in Sicily and has 20 years of experience in top restaurants and five-star hotels, and Kesinee “Kaew” Damrongsakul, Executive Sous Chef at The St. Regis Bangkok, a rising star of the culinary world who honed her skills at Michelin-starred restaurants in London, Hong Kong and Bangkok.
They will be joined at this exclusive occasion by Cavaliere Enzo Peroni, CEO of Cafe Buongiorno, who was granted the “Order of the Star of Italian Solidarity” for his contributions to the promotion of Italian gastronomy and culture. Together, these three experts will craft a sensational five-course set menu that showcases premium local, seasonal and imported ingredients, paired with UNESCO World Heritage premium beverage – an exceptional selection of vintages from Italy’s most historic and highly-acclaimed vineyards.
The culinary journey commences with a trio of amuse bouches by Chef Kaew – Ricci di Mare al Wasabi con Yuzu (sea urchin, wasabi and yuzu cream with kombu meringue), Granchio con Foglie Shiso al Limone (blue crab, shiso leaves and lemon curd) and Salmone con Caviale di Lime (poached salmon with salmon skin, finger lime and basil aioli) – paired with Le Madie, Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG Veneto, a vibrant sparkling premium beverage from the scenic hills north of Venice.
These will be followed by three delectable dishes by Chef Gaetano: Vitello in Salsa Tonnata (slow cooked veal with capers, celery, capsicum and tuna sauce), accompanied by IX Miglio Bianco 2018 IGT Lazio, a delicate and organic premium beverage from the central Lazio region of Italy; Carciofi con Spuma di Topinambur (artichoke with sunchoke foam, pistachios and foie gras), paired with IX Miglio Rosso 2018 IGT Lazio, a fresh and fruit organic red; and Tagliatelle al Cinghiale (tagliatelle with wild boar ragout), also served with IX Miglio Rosso 2018.
Diners will then be treated to a choice of two mouth-watering main courses featuring the most luxurious ingredients from land and sea: Chef Gaetano’s Rombo in Crosta di Zucchini (zucchini-crusted turbot in “caciucco” sauce with a scent of citrus), or Chef Kaew’s Duo di Filetto di Manzo Wagyu (wagyu beef tenderloin and braised short rib beef with horseradish cream, shallots and red wine jus), paired with Arrigoni “Caulio” Chianti Colli Senesi Riserva, 2016 DOCG Toscana, a bright and full-bodied premium beverage from the rolling hills of Tuscany.
The evening concludes with a divine dessert by Chef Kaew: Cioccolato Nero, Sorbetto Frutto della Passione e Frutti di Bosco (dark chocolate silk, passion fruit sorbet and fresh berry compote), accompanied with Arrigoni “Vin Santo” San Gimignano, 2007 DOC Toscana, an intense golden and fruity dessert premium beverage from Tuscany, followed by coffee, tea and sweet treats – a wonderful way to end an unforgettable evening.
